Paluang Cliff Viewpoint In Nusa Penida, Bali

Paluang Cliff is another amazing viewpoint that is just a 5 minute drive from the famous Kelingking Cliff in Nusa Penida island.

Both Paluang and Kelingking show you the same thing, but from different angles and with different scenery. Both are amazing!

Paluang Cliff Viewpoint

From the Paluang overlook you can see the other side of Kelingking cliff, along with the little green island sitting next to it, and Embon Beach at the bottom of the huge cliff wall.

There’s a neat little wooden “boat” you can sit in for free and take photos, and a wooden platform where you can pay a small fee to climb up and take pictures from above.

All in all, it’s a very underrated viewpoint, and I love it!

Second Viewpoint

To the south, just 50 yards from the first viewpoint, there’s a second overlook where you can get some more epic views, especially with the help of a drone!

EXTRA: Pura Paluang Temple

Also known as the ‘car temple’, this is a weird shrine just a 2 minute walk southeast from the parking lot for Paluang Cliff. Check it out while you’re nearby!

Entrance Fees

FREE as of 2019.

There’s no parking fee or entry fee here.

How To Get To Paluang Cliff

Paluang Cliff is on the west side of Nusa Penida island.

It’s accessible by car or scooter, and takes about a 1 hour drive to reach from the main docks and accommodation in northern Penida. Be careful if you go by scooter because the road can be pretty rough and may be dangerous in some spots if you don’t take it slow!

Day Tours To Nusa Penida

If you’re on a tight schedule or want to skip the extra steps involved in arranging your own trip to Nusa Penida, there are a number of companies that offer prearranged day trips to Penida for as low as $50 USD, complete with hotel transfer, island tour, lunch, and same day return to Bali (or Nusa Lembongan).

Where We Stayed

We stayed at Saren Villa on the north coast of Nusa Penida, and paid $19 USD for a private double room with cold A/C, hot shower, and good WiFi.

It's not the cheapest option in Penida, but that price includes free breakfast and a great location near the best restaurants! I was happy.

Prices may fluctuate from time to time, so just keep an eye out for a good deal.
