Pandan Beach In Nusa Penida, Bali

by David & Intan

One of the most popular places in Nusa Penida is easily Crystal Bay, but just a 20-30 minute walk over the hill from Crystal Bay is a second beach with nicer sand and less people.

Welcome to Pandan Beach! This guide will explain how you can get there, and everything you need to know before you go!

Where To Stay In Nusa Penida

Pandan Beach Nusa Penida

Pandan is actually the 2nd of 3 beaches in a row, separated by hills that you need to hike in order to reach them:

This means you will have to pass through Crystal Beach in order to visit Pandan.

On the way to Pandan, you get some nice views of the snorkeling boats anchored in Crystal Bay.

Pandan is still a hidden beach as of 2024.

When I went, there were 100+ people at Crystal Bay, but only 2 or 3 tourists hanging out at Pandan.

There’s a small drink shack near the entrance, but aside from that, the beach is all yours!

Entrance Fees

FREE as of 2024.

There’s no entry fee here.

How To Get To Pandan Beach

Pandan Beach is on the west side of Nusa Penida island.

You can reach it on foot from Crystal Bay, which is accessible by car or scooter with a small parking fee.

From Crystal Bay, walk south until you reach the end of the beach. You’ll find a hidden path in the trees.

Nusa Penida Private Driver

If you want to explore Nusa Penida in the comfort and safety of a van with a driver, my top recommendation would be GetYourGuide.

They offer a full day of driving and sightseeing in Penida (up to 8 hours) for 1-5 passengers. This tour includes the whole van + driver + petrol.

We've used GetYourGuide for lots of tours and activities around the world, and they're great! Highly recommended.

Where We Stayed

We stayed at Saren Villa on the north coast of Nusa Penida, and paid 240k Rupiah ($15 USD) for a private double room with cold A/C, hot shower, and good WiFi.

This is one of the cheapest options in Penida, and it's in a great location near the best restaurants! We were happy.

Prices may fluctuate from time to time, so just keep an eye out for a good deal.
