Tibumana Waterfall Bali – Beautiful Location Near Ubud

Tibumana Waterfall is one of the nicer falls in the Ubud area of Bali, Indonesia, and it’s super easy to reach with a quick drive and short walk.

This used to be a hidden waterfall where you could escape the crowds, but thanks to Instagram it’s starting to get noticed and last time we went during high season (August) there were probably 10-15 people at the falls.

This guide will explain how you can get there, and everything you need to know before you go!

Tibumana Waterfall Bali

Tibumana waterfall (also known by its Indonesian name Air Terjun Tibumana) is still secret from most tourists in Bali.

It’s much less crowded than the Tegenungan or Tukad Cepung waterfalls, and the jungle backdrop makes it look a bit like paradise. I’ve seen some people even do wedding photo shoots here!

If you come here in the morning, around 8-9 AM or earlier, you should have the place mostly to yourself.

Entrance Fee

The entrance fee is only 15k Rupiah (~$1 USD) as of 2020.

How To Get To Tibumana Waterfall

Tibumana waterfall is located in central Bali, just a 30 minute drive from Ubud.

The best way to get there is to rent a scooter or hire a private car and driver (both of these can be booked online).

The road to Tibumana winds through some green rice fields and palm trees, so it’s a great scenic drive.

The walk to the falls from the parking area is only about 10-15 minutes.

EXTRA: Pengibul Waterfall

Pengibul is another waterfall on the same road as Tibumana, and the entrance for this one is literally just 500 meters from the entrance for Tibumana waterfall. You’ll see a sign for Pengibul on your right as you drive to Tibumana.

This is a nice 2-step waterfall flowing over some rocks, so it’s definitely worth checking out while you’re at Tibumana. For Pengibul, there is no entry fee as of 2019. Two waterfalls for the price of one!

Bali Private Driver & Motorbike Rental

If you want to explore Bali in the comfort and safety of a private car with a driver, my top recommendation would be Klook.

Their price is 450k IDR ($30 USD) for a full day of driving and sightseeing in Bali (up to 10 hours) for 1-5 passengers. That's the total price for the whole car + driver + petrol! It's a steal.

If you'd rather travel by motorbike, they have that too. Their scooter rentals start at 85k IDR (~$6) and include a helmet, rain coat, and pickup in the south Bali area.

We've used Klook for lots of tours and activities around the world, and they're great! Highly recommended.
