Tibumana Waterfall is one of the nicer falls in the Ubud area of Bali, Indonesia, and it’s super easy to reach with a quick drive and short walk.
This used to be a hidden waterfall where you could escape the crowds, but thanks to Instagram it’s starting to get noticed and last time we went during high season (August) there were probably 10-15 people at the falls.
This travel guide will explain how you can get there, and everything you need to know before you go!
Tibumana Waterfall Bali
Tibumana waterfall (also known by its Indonesian name Air Terjun Tibumana) is a smaller curtain shaped waterfall that’s nice for pictures.
The jungle backdrop makes it look a bit like paradise, and I’ve seen some people even do wedding photo shoots here!
Tibumana is much less crowded with tourists compared to the Tegenungan or Tukad Cepung waterfalls, but that’s starting to change as it becomes more popular in Instagram photos.
However, if you come here in the morning around 8-9 AM or earlier, you should still have the place mostly to yourself.
Entrance Fee
The Tibumana entrance fee is only 20k Rupiah (~$1 USD) as of 2024.
How To Get To Tibumana Waterfall
Tibumana waterfall is located in central Bali, just a 30 minute drive from Ubud.
The best way to get there is to rent a scooter or hire a private car and driver (both of these can be booked online).
The road to Tibumana winds through some green rice fields and palm trees, so it’s a great scenic drive.
The walk to the falls from the parking area is only about 10-15 minutes.
EXTRA: Taman Sari Waterfall
Taman Sari is another waterfall on the same road as Tibumana, and the entrance for this one is literally just 500 meters from the entrance for Tibumana waterfall. You’ll see a sign for Taman Sari (or ‘Pengibul waterfall’) on your right as you drive to Tibumana.
This is a nice 2-step waterfall flowing over some rocks, with a natural pool to swim in. There’s a small entrance fee, but it’s worth it!

Bali Private Driver & Motorbike Rental
If you want to explore Bali in the comfort and safety of a private car with an English speaking driver, my top recommendation would be GetYourGuide.
Their prices start at 700k Rupiah (~$48 USD) for a full day of driving and sightseeing in Bali (up to 10 hours) for 1-5 passengers. That's the total price for the whole car + driver + petrol! It's a great deal. They also offer affordable hotel transfers from the airport.
If you'd rather travel by motorbike, they have that too. Their scooter rentals start at 140k Rupiah (~$9) and include a helmet, rain coat, and free delivery in the south Bali area.
We've used GetYourGuide for lots of tours and activities around the world, and they're great! Highly recommended.
